Frequently Asked Questions
What type of Counselling do you offer?
We provide individual, couples, and family counselling, as well as workplace wellbeing and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services. Sessions can focus on issues such as anxiety, stress, relationships, life transitions, grief, women’s health, and more.
Do I need a referral?
As a private Counsellor you do not require referrals. Psychologists and Psychiatrists require referrals from your GP. You can book directly online or by phone/email.
Can I claim with Medicare or my private health fund?
Health fund rebates will apply. Please check in about which health funds are claimable. Counselling is not on the list of claimable services for Medicare at this time, hence why our prices have been reduced and adjusted accordingly.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
We offer a 10–15-minute introductory chat over the phone. This way we can both get a sense of whether we will be a good fit.
What is the difference between counselling/therapy and psychology services?
Counselling focuses on supporting you through current or historic challenges, moving through trauma, developing coping strategies, and building personal insight. Psychologists may provide similar support but can offer formal mental health assessments or diagnoses.
What can I expect in my first session?
The first session is a chance to share your story, discuss what brings you to counselling, and set goals together. It’s also a time to ask questions and ensure the approach feels like a good fit.
How many sessions will I need?
Every person and situation is different. Some people find a few sessions helpful for a specific issue, while others choose ongoing support over a longer period.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected by professional ethics and Australian law. The only exceptions are where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if disclosure is required by law.
Do you provide counselling for women’s health and menopause?
Yes. I specialise in supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, hormonal health changes, fertility challenges, and the mental health impacts of these transitions.
Do you work with workplaces and organisations?
Yes. I provide workplace wellbeing workshops, training on hormonal health and mental health, and boutique EAP sessions for employees.

Re-connecting back to our sensitivity is paramount when dealing with our health and this includes our mental health. Our ability to feel settled with life and settled in our body is in fact our natural state. Yet sometimes we need support to return to what our body innately knows.
